But I’m still here? I didn’t go anywhere?

The headmaster let out a loud, hard sigh. He swiveled in his chair and started crumbling pieces of paper into little balls, and tossing them into the trash. Jack had just gotten back. He was gone for about seven months, traveling the world in search for troubled young supernatural beings. He was…
Ariella always found herself in the same situation during the holidays. She always rushed to finish her work so that she could relax over the break but when the break came and the academy became emptier she soon became bored and wished she had work to do. Of course, she stayed at the academy during the holidays, having no where else to go. And then, even if she did, she wouldn’t get very far before causing humans an accident, the glow of her skin and the large pair of silver wings making it impossible for her to blend in.
Today was another boredom filled day and so she decided to head out of her dorm and out into the school gardens. She hadn’t been out there long before a familiar voice caused her to glance up. As the headmaster came into view she felt mixed emotions of both happiness and worry. Their headmaster was always warm and cheerful but then, she hadn’t seen him since a relationship with James, one of his professors had begun and she feared what would happen if he found out. She pushed the negative thoughts from her mind and hoped no sign of it showed on her face as her lips spread into a wide, bright grin and the natural sheen of her skin increased ever so slightly. “Headmaster! I haven’t seen you in ages! How are you?”
“Oh I’m doing brilliant!” he said and walked over to her. The headmaster knew every student in the school personally. He made it his business to be there for them. Ariella was one of his favorites to be honest. She was a hard worker and a good person. “You know me, traveling, recruiting, the usual. How about you? Anything new going on in your life?” he asked a smile still on his face.
Ariella nodded, her smile growing wider as he spoke, glad that he was doing well. “And where has our famous headmaster been travelling to lately? Any new recruits?” She asked, another grin on her lips to hide her burning curiosity. Jack was a complete mystery to both professors and students and Ariella was always dying to learn more about him. “I’m fine. Same old really, a little bored if I’m honest. Made the mistake of finishing every bit of work I had before the holidays and now I have nothing to do.” She admitted with a soft, musical chuckle.
“Oh you know, this and there.” he said with a light shrug. “Had tea with the queen, such a nice woman.” he said with a smile. “You can expect a few more angels, and werewolves running around.” he said. Jack never revealed too much about his travels or himself. He was a private man and likes it that way, but he had a way of charming so people would ask too much. “Went to India, bought a horse. Named it Arthur.” he said with a smile. “but enough about me, I’m rather boring.” he said. “I’m sorry to hear your bored, in hopes to make you feel better can I buy you a coffee?” he asked. It was rare he got to bond with his students.
Ariella’s eyebrows rose in surprise as she listened to her headmasters words. She wondered why she was still shocked by some of the things he said, she should have been used to his adventures by now. “Wow.. that sounds.. eventful?” She laughed at the mention of his horse. “Good name.” She noted, a hint of sarcasm in her tone, the grin on her lips telling him that she meant nothing bad by it however. In response to his request she nodded her agreement and offered him a sweet smile. “Coffee would be great, thank you.”

Ariella chuckled softly along with James, smiling sweetly in return to his wide smile as he tucked the hair behind her ear. “Pretty sure that would earn you A*’s for life.” She giggled, her hands moving to rest on either side of his face. “I love you too.” She replied in a whisper before kissing him softly.
“Well good to know.” James laughed and smiled sweetly at her as she spoke again. “I’m glad we’re on the same page here.” He tightened his grip around her and breathed in her scent deeply. He couldn’t get enough of her, and he knew it was just a matter of time before he’d have to go and he tried not to think of it and enjoy every moment he had with her. “Hey, I know you said you weren’t planning on going to the ball, but I think you should dress up anyways.”
“Pretty sure we’re always on the same page, love.” Ariella replied with a grin, her own grip tightening slightly as his did. She arched an eyebrow curiously, a dubious look on her expression as he spoke again. “You think I should dress up to sit in my room.. you might have to elaborate a little there James.” She chuckled.
